The Hidden Vault

During the infamous 2020 Nintendo Gigaleak, a lot of previously unknown content and data leaks from various classic video games were made public for the first time, including Super Mario World. Super Mario World itself is unique in the sheer amount of content never seen before in its leaked directories. One of the most puzzling and intriguing hidden content includes a file titled “SEX.CGX”. It is a sprite file that contains an image of Luigi behind Bowser.

Given the name of the file and the suggestive positioning of the two characters, it can be implied that Luigi is engaging in sexual intercourse with Bowser, possibly doggy style or anal sex. It’s hard to tell because we are unable to see the entire image, but it does call into question as to why this image is in the game in the first place. The most likely explanation is that it is a raunchy joke by the developers of the game, but it would be interesting to consider if there are more adult images hidden in Super Mario World, or in other Mario games affected by the gigaleak.
